Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a straight scope or a long, flexible tube, or endoscope, to explore and visualize the upper respiratory and or upper digestive tracts. The endoscope can also be used to obtain tissue samples, or biopsies, which can be examined and evaluated under a microscope, and to perform certain treatments or procedures. Because endoscopy is minimally invasive, recovery is quick and discomfort is very minimal.
